National Road 6, Ahvenampi-Mansikkala

National Road 6 is one of Finland’s most important main highways.  The construction of the Lappeenranta – Imatra road as a 4-lane thoroughfare with grade-separated interchanges was initialised in the late autumn of 2007. A-Insinöörit has also been actively involved in the project’s second stage extending from Joutseno to Imatra.

The road is being opened for use in 2011.  A-Insinöörit’s structural engineering tasks included 20 km of highway improvements, 2 new and 5 improved grade-separated interchanges, 22 bridges, 8 km of noise barriers, as well as 7 km of ground water protectors.
